Da Brat Weighs In On Jermaine Dupri Female Emcees Comments 

Jermaine Dupri was heavily criticized for his comments on the emergence of female rappers in the industry. His view was widely perceived as sexism and has received backlash from fans and artists over the comments.
He made the controversial comments during an interview session with ‘People’ where he said they all rap in the same way and made mention of ‘strippers rapping’.

“The only reason I can’t say [is because] I feel like they all rapping about the same thing and I don’t think they’re showing us who’s the best rapper. I think they’re trying to show… for me… um, it’s like strippers rapping.”
“As far as rap goes, I’m not getting who is the best rapper. I’m getting, like, OK; you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club. OK, all right. [But] who’s gonna be the rapper?”
Even after been criticised by fans ,Cardi B,  6lack amongst others, Da Brat stands solid behind Jermaine Dupri over his comments and she thinks female emcees should be grateful he talked about it.
“Everything Jermaine Dupri does, he does strategically,” she told TMZ. “You should be thankful that the conversation is even started now because now the focus in on us [female rappers]. New [rappers], seasoned [rappers], legends…everybody’s commenting.”

She continues her praise of the Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta star:
“I love Jermaine Dupri, he’s very smart at what he does, and there’s always a method to his madness.”
