In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Warkentin apologized for his activities and uncovered that he has been getting death threats as far back as he opened up to the world. He additionally says he needs to connect with the Currys to issue a statement of regret.
“I’m not in a position to defend myself in terms of what happened. I am sure you understand the influence of alcohol,” Warkentin tells the Toronto Sun. “To be honest I don’t even remember being there but I am responsible for my own actions at the end of the day… I am not sitting here claiming victim.”
“What I am trying to do is maybe reach out to Mr. and Mrs. Curry and that’s realistically who I feel I owe an apology to and maybe Toronto,” he said.

Disgusting, inappropriate, and vile. However the courts have consistently ruled it doesn’t meet the standards for causing a disturbance under the criminal code. Networks need to step up and start protecting their people with security.— CanadianInvestigator (@CDNinvestigator) June 3, 2019
Shocked that he even said that about @ayeshacurry. She should have NEVER been treated like that. EVER. Have some respect for the wives and girlfriends of NBA stars. They should not have been mistreated by fans especially of the opposing team. FHRITP? Enough is enough. Ridiculous.— Matthew De Michele 🏒14-7🏀⚽️⚾️ (@DemicheleMatt) June 4, 2019
You handled that d-bag well which is why you are the great reporter you are – let’s hope his mother, his employer and future employers see the content of this mans character.— Jamie Gutfreund (@JamieGutfreund) June 3, 2019
He looked like a complete moron while you handled it with total grace. Don’t let this spoil your well deserved break, ❤️ you!— Miranda Anthistle (@Mirandanthistle) June 3, 2019
I love covering the @Raptors. I love the fans and I love the post-season feeling in the city. However, I really can’t stand when people hijack an interview to spew vile comments on live TV. Toronto is so much better than that. pic.twitter.com/ZVC1w0hm2S— Kelly Linehan (@KellyCP24) June 3, 2019
