South Central L.A. Intersection To Be Renamed After Nipsey Hussle

Last week, a petition was launched to rename a South Central L.A. intersection after Nipsey Hussle. Now, South Los Angeles City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson has confirmed that the City Of Los Angeles will officially be renaming the intersection of Crenshaw Blvd. and West Slauson Avenue after the late rapper.

Councilman Harris-Dawson will officially file a motion this Friday to have the intersection of Crenshaw Blvd. and West Slauson named “Ermias ‘Nipsey Hussle’ Asghedom Square
The intersection is adjacent to where Nipsey Hussle’s Marathon Store was opened. Nipsey recently bought the plaza that housed in flagship Marathon Store and announced plans to demolish it and rebuild it as a residential building with a commercial plaza at the bottom.

“Ermias Asghedom known as ‘Nipsey Hussle‘ was an icon and West Coast hero,” Councilmember Harris-Dawson said in a statement.
“Nipsey’s genuine nature allowed him to be a light to everyone he interacted with from family, friends, fans, and his larger community.

As a father, brother, and son, Nipsey was a rock helping to build an empire that will continue through generations.
