A source told RadarOnline that Eddie Murphy was offered millions to host but said “no.”
“The producers were shocked. They knew they’d have a tough time convincing him given his X-rated comedy background and after the embarrassment, Kevin Hart endured when his past anti-gay comments came to light!” the source told Radar.
Eddie Murphy previously withdrew as host of the 2012 Oscars when his producer friend Ratner quit the show after being blasted for using a homophobic slur.

The Academy has reportedly trying to get him back ever since, but following the debacle, he is “less interested” after seeing what Hart went through.
