Lil Wayne Is Now The Sole Owner Of Young Money

Dreddsworld : Earlier today, Lil Wayne was revealed as the cover star for Billboard’s latest feature. In the write-up, Weezy goes into detail about what we can expect from Tha Carter V and some of the business decisions behind Wayne’s legal dispute with Birdman were revealed. Mainly, the categorization of Young Money as a branch of Stunna’s Cash Money was outlined.

It was casually revealed in the piece that Lil Wayne is now the sole owner of Young Money. That means that what was once a 51-49 percent joint venture has been granted in its entirety to Wayne. It had previously announced that C5 would be released via Republic Records but with this news, it means that Wayne has the freedom to drop whatever music was being halted by the big boss. This will mark his first album not to be released under the Cash Money imprint according to Billboard.

On the move, Tunechi’s manager and attorney, Ron Sweeney said, “There’s no hard feelings or animosity. This is business, and we finally got our business straight.” Birdman and Wayne still speak on a daily basis but Weezy says he’s less trusting, focusing mostly on the outcome of his long-awaited project.

A reunion between some of Young Money’s marquee stars wouldn’t be completely out of the question either as he sung Nicki Minaj’s praises during the same interview.
